The Marlboro Red Treatment
We have now arrived in Hue after spending a long, long night on the so-called ‘luxury’ sleeper bus for 14 hours. The bus driver seemingly had slight maniac tendancies, drove like he was living on a diet of Red Bull and amphetamines, and got us here in super quick speed. At one point we were literally thrown a foot in the air off our ‘beds’.
We haven’t seen anything of Hue yet though. It has been raining non-stop all day – we’ve really hit the monsoon here. And, on checking my foot this morning we decided it needed to be looked at properly by a doctor since it was not healing too well. The doc was a tad brusque and started cutting away at the dead flesh on my foot before the anaesthetic had kicked in. It was a bit painful. Two stitches (my first ever), several renditions of When the dog bites / bee stings / whiskers / mittens / kittens and some bandaging later and all is feeling a bit better. We have spent the day chilling in our hotel room, enjoying the delights of takeway pizza, delicious apple cake and a plethora of excellent US cable channels. I heart HBO right now.
xx
Just picked myself up from the floor, are you both getting better about the blood? Sounds a bit raw as a revenshaw no anaesthetic. Hope you ok. Make sure you keep it clean no swimming in rivers. Love Lucy/Mum

We were actually surprisingly okay with the blood on this one. I think the fact that we were both pretty pissed helped a lot!! I think the only course of action is for us to stay permanently inntoxicated just in case!! xxx
