to go with all the animals. We went to the zoo zoo zoo (they could have come too too too) at Steve Irwin’s place (Australia Zoo), and we felt like we needed to abduct a child or two to validate our entrance. But we had lots of fun. And I am now obsessed with koala bears. I always thought they looked a bit miserable, but actually they are just incredibly cool. They just chill out all day, hanging about on branches in yogic positions, munching leaves and doing lots of not very much. And they are so cuddly and cute. Dadda, for Christmas? Per-leeeease.
I would love to meet the marketing guru behind some of Australia Zoo’s material. Deep within one of their brochures is the fantastic line, “all over the world the colour khaki is recognised as Steve [Irwin]‘s signature colour” (!!) It goes on… “But khaki is more than a colour – it’s an attitude”. So deep. So profound. Pure genius.
By the way, do you know how many kangaroos there are in Australia?? Go on, have a guess. And how many rabbits? It’s quite staggering. There are a mega 100 million kangaroos bounding about Oz. And 300 million rabbits. Unbelievable!! That according to the wonderful Bill Bryson, who is currently accompanying us on our drive Down Under.
We loved them too and visited the koala hospital in NSW.Did you make Noosa or not?Don’t forget to pay your tolls!!!!xxxx

The koala’s biggest enemy is the pet dog as koalas can’t run! We saw some poorly ones at the rescue centre and their stories made me cry!!
When we did our night not freedom camping we watched children feeding roos with sandwiches and apples.
I bought Mikey his first car today… a red baby walker. I have warned him not to speed should he get as far as Oz in it!! xxx
